Yogurt3D Tutorials and Demos
« on: July 27, 2011, 12:34:13 pm »
An new quick tutorial on installing the 3dsMax exporters and exporting inanimate meshes is added to the tutorials section: http://www.yogurt3d.com/support/tutorials.html

Don't forget to read the readme files in the exporters directory. Your meshes should be in an appropriate format. Basically, meshes other than in  Editable Poly format or without proper UV unwrappings can be problematic.

If your model has a bone structure, you may use the "Animated Mesh" option to export the mesh, plus the bones in the bind pose (frame 0 pose). Use the animation exporter to export the animations for your skeletal mesh in separate YOA files.

Feel free to contact us if you have any problems.

I like it. I appreciate the sound based upon where you walk and how it changes. A question I have is when I dump my cache and load this scene from scratch it takes almost 2 entire minutes to load the entire scene. When I evaluate this in firebug simple graphics that are like only 16kb in file size are taking in some cases 1-2 secs to load. Do you think the loading elements functionality for each asset is actually making the loading process take longer than it should?

The demo contains a lot of assets. Also our server has a very high latency making the first initial connection to the file to reach 200ms. If we would embed the assets to a swf and load it only once it would be much faster. Thanks for the feedback, we would be working on improving this demo.
